3 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness[b]
for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:3
Today has been a challenging day, it started out very well, as I was up early and got my workout in completely with time to spare. But it didn’t take long for things to loose momentum from there.
I am grateful that my 9:30 appointment didn’t show up until 10:00 as I could have easily used another 1/2 hour of preparation time; but not only did he show up late, everyone else showed up early so now I was extra stressed as I felt that I was being pulled in 3 or four directions. Thankfully it all worked out just great but when every one left on their different destinations I felt exhausted.
As an escape, I used the opportunity to get some supplies from town and took advantage of the rare chance to pick my grand daughter up from school. It was fun getting to bring her home and we had a good visit, and when we got home I thought I would go out and finish preparing a project that needs to be completed tomorrow, but the morning and the cold weather caught up with me again. So I headed in to work in the office where I was tripped up by grandchildren who needed to go out to play so Grandma could prepare supper. Needless to say the children had energy to burn and I was feeling a little burned out.
As I write this devotion, I am looking forward to the blessed restoration of my soul that the Lord offers in order that I can serve as a good and willing witness to Him in the new day.
We pray: Father thank you for providing us rest and renewal of spirit. Help us become energized to be Your servant to others. In Jesus Name we ask, Amen.
