39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
Help and Confidence
One of my mentors recently has been focusing his studies and teachings on making decisions.   Making decisions can be extremely difficult, since our early days we have been taught that there are good and bad decisions and sometimes the result of making the wrong decision can be very painful.  So painful that experiencing making a bad decision is often enough to bring us to the point where we have a very difficult time making any decisions at all.
Through his recent teachings the mentor has identified three possible results when presented with a decision.
  •  make the right decision and the results meet or exceed expectations.
  •  make the wrong decision and the results are disappointing or disastrous.
  •  make no decision and experience no change.
It is the teacher’s thought that the worst choice is to make no decision and to experience no change.  What I want to add here is that we have help in determining the right decision.  Through our risen Lord, we can ask for help and be confident, through His words, that He will lead us to make the right decision.
Let’s Pray:  Heavenly Father,  Thank you for sending Your Son to save us from our sinfulness.  Lord, help seek your guidance that we may have the courage to make a decision and the confidence to know the result will exceed our exceptions.  Through Jesus, we ask.  Amen
Philippians: 4-13:  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
